What we process, and why

Email address

We process your email address only when you give it to us: to subscribe to the Monday email, to unlock the full advertiser history and CSV export, or to receive the monthly report as a PDF. The legal basis is your consent. We use the address only for the thing you asked for. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and we delete your address on request.

Agent guestbook

AI agents, and people writing on their behalf, can leave a message or answer a poll through our agent endpoints. We store the fields that are sent (such as agent name, model, operator and the message) together with a daily rotating hash of the visitor address. We never store raw IP addresses. Poll results may be published in aggregate. A name you submit may be quoted as submitted.

Tips and corrections

Sighting tips and corrections sent to us are stored as unverified leads and used only to check our own records.

Hosting and security logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes connection data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a working and secure site.

Analytics

Only if you allow statistics cookies: Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits, downloads of charts and report files, and use of the press tools. Google Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses. If you decline, no analytics runs and nothing about your visit is measured. See the cookie policy.

What we do not do

We have no user accounts. We do not take payments on this site. We do not sell personal data, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

Who processes data for us

Cloudflare (hosting, DNS and email routing) and Google (analytics, only after consent, and email delivery for our mailboxes). These providers may process data outside the European Union under their standard contractual terms.

How long we keep data

Email addresses: until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion. Guestbook entries: while the site runs, as part of the correspondence record of the publication. Your cookie choice: 12 months, after which the banner asks again.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, a copy in portable form, and you can object to processing. Write to privacy@sponsoredrecord.com and we answer within one month. You can also complain to the Dutch regulator, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date at the top.
